Richard MacKinnon, Jr. (Funeral Director)
A 2nd generation Funeral Director, born and raised in Dorchester, and a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury class of 1991. He attended New England Institute at Mt. Ida College and received his Funeral Directors license in 1994. Richard Jr. has since served on the Whitman Fire Department becoming a full time member in August of 2000. He is a member of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts and the International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO-CLC Local 1769. Richard his wife Carolyn, and daughters Rosemary Margaret & Lillie Beth reside in Whitman. Carolyn is a junior high Spanish teacher for the City of Brockton where she participates in many extracurricular activities with her students. Together Rich and Carolyn share many interests both religiously and civically that keep them active in the community.

Richard D. “Red” MacKinnon, Sr., Born and brought up in the Neponset section of Dorchester. Richard graduated from Dorchester High School in 1964. Appointed 33 years ago to the Boston Fire Department, and is presently a District Chief’s Aide in the Dorchester section of Boston.A graduate of New England Institute at Mt. Ida College, class of 1990 receiving his funeral directors license. He was employed at the John C. Mulry Funeral Homes in the Neponset section of Dorchester for 22 years.
Richard is married and resides in East Bridgewater with his wife of 33 years, Margaret (Smallcomb). They have four children, Richard Jr., Thomas, Kathleen, and Marybeth. Their sons Richard Jr., and Thomas have continued their father’s footsteps and are second generation Funeral Directors.

Leo R. Dube, Jr., CPC (Advanced Planning)
The Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home is excited to have Leo join the MacKinnon Family of Funeral Homes. He will work along side the MacKinnon Family to manage the Advanced Planning Department at all of the MacKinnon Family Locations. Offering nearly 25 years of funeral service experience, Leo brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our pre-planning program.
In 2001, Leo earned the CPC certification (Certified Preplanning Consultant) from the Funeral Service Education Foundation in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This certification exemplifies the adherence to the highest professional standards, ethics and excellence in the service to client families.
