			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Marie H. Valente of Easton, formerly of Brockton passed away at Golden Living Center-Oak Hill Nursing Home in Middleboro on May 15, 2012.  Mrs. Valente was 82.  She was the wife of the late Louis S. Valente.  Loving mother of L. Edward Valente of Easton, Kenneth S. Valente of Taunton, Eleanor Chew and her husband John of Fairhaven and Ann M. Valente of Taunton. Marie was the proud grandmother of Jennifer Chew of Fairhaven.  Beloved sister of Ralph Philbrick, Jr. of Brockton and Elaine Phinney of Dover, Delaware.</p>
<p>Marie was born on August 3, 1929 in Brockton, the daughter of the late Ralph F. Sr. and Eleanor (Blade) Philbrick.  She was a member of the Cochesett Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of the Troop Committee for the Boy Scouts.  Mrs. Valente was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts, as well as being on the Neighbor Service Committee.  She will be missed by all who knew her.</p>
<p>A visitation will be held on Saturday May 19, 2012 from 10-11 am at Sampson-Hickey-Grenier Funeral Home 309 Main St. BROCKTON, Ma 02301.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Coweeset Cemetery in Brockton.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jean Marie Higgins (Borges), 71 of Hanson passed away on Tuesday May 8, 2012.  She was the loving mother of Dana Higgins and his wife Ginger of Augusta, Georgia and Jay Higgins and his wife Jo-Anna of Plymouth, MA.  Jean was the loving Grandmother of 3 granddaughters; Ashley Higgins, Perri Higgins and Allison Higgins.  Ms. Higgins leaves behind her sister June Borges of New Hampshire.  She was predeceased by her brother the late James Borges.</p>
<p>Born on April 5, 1941, Jean was the daughter of the late Ralph A. and Philomena M. (Syracusa) Borges.  She grew up in Whitman and attended Whitman High School.  Ms. Higgins moved to Hanson in 1966 and called the town home for 46 years.  Jean was a volunteer at the Hanson Public Library.  She enjoyed walking, sewing, and anything outdoors.  Jean loved to ride her bicycle and dancing.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.</p>
<p>Calling Hours will be held on Monday May 14<sup>th</sup> from 5-8pm at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 W. Hall of Abington, former resident of Hanover for over 40 years, passed away on May 6, 2012 at Morton Hospital in Taunton.  He was 88 years old.  Mr. Hall was the husband of the late Conchetta Hall (Salvaggi).  Beloved father of Libby Hall of Easton, Bonnie McGraw of Abington, Paul Martin of Abington, the late Rita Mahoney and Sherman Hall.  George was the proud grandfather of Dawn LeTourneau and her husband Paul of Dartmouth and Pete McGraw and his girlfriend Kate Logan of Hanover.  Mr. Hall was the loving Great Grandfather of Miranda and Geoffrey LeTourneau.  He leaves behind his Dear Friend Marla of Easton.  George was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Greene.</p>
<p>Mr. Hall was born on May 7, 1923 and was raised in Randolph, MA, the son of the late Margarite Hall.  He was a hardworking Paver for Warren Bros. Company and member of Local 4. He served our country with dignity during World War II alongside General Patton as a member of the U.S.  Army’s Acorn Division and Big Red 1.   George was a kind man, who opened hi s home and heart to over 100 Foster Children throughout his life.  He enjoyed gardening of all sorts and was proud of his numerous gardens.  Mr. Hall called himself, “The Junkman” and loved his hobby of scrapping machines and metal for parts, he was proud of his work as a “Junker”. </p>
<p>A visitation will be held on Thursday May 10<sup>th</sup> from 10-11am at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 W.
